So I was talking to my buddy who works for the registrar, the PA means "Physicians Assistant". Its what ALL undergraduate full-time students get this year (including health sci's who normally have different stickers). Its one of those cost cutting things the school is going through, all full time students now have the same stickers they all say U-FT/PA. Part -time and other students will have different stickers. Thats the skinny on that. Cost cutting at its best.

Haha its coined around the Physicians assistant program that McMaster offers, I believe we as full time undergrads have the same privileges as them, but they need special designation on their stickers so the school decided to group everybody under their sticker tag (if that made any sense haha). Its just cost cutting, mainly to show that we all have the same HSR priviledges.

Now I dont know how this will work out at HSC library because in years past only students with the health science sticker could book rooms in that building. Now with errybody under one sticker I would assume its going to be a longer process as they would need to pull up info on your program and such before allowing a room to be booked.

All in all PA means nothing to us.

I'm pretty sure Health Sci's have an ID card which gets them into the HealthScience lounge on the first floor of HSC. Library staff will probably need that when booking rooms in HSC library.

Can someone confirm where they heard that the FT/PA stickers were going to all first year students? I was in the registars office early July replacing a lost student card, and the person there said I was sent the wrong sticker and would have to come in at the beginning of september to fix this.

Thanks!

No one has received the sticker designation from last year, everyone so far has received the same sticker.

So either McMaster screwed up royally and has to replace some 16000 stickers or they are the actual stickers for this year and the staff hasn't been updated on the new stickers yet.

Yeah, our ID card is for the lounge and normally, "h.science" part is to book rooms in health sci library. I am pretty positive that only people in the faculty of health sciences (bhsc, nursing, med, etc) can still book rooms in HSL. Not 100% sure though.

End of August is usually when the last ones are received. If you don't receive one by then, contact the Registrar and ask them if you can pick it up on the first day of class or when you move into residence if you are living in residence.

Yep, they do every year

If you set up your student card account with Titles, they put a sticker over the 'bookstore' part to validate it.
