Virgin Mobile in Hamilton
Hello MacInsider!

I've been with Rogers for the past couple of years but I'm really tired of paying so much so I'm thinking about switching to Virgin Mobile. I'm slightly worried about the speed comparison between Virgin and Rogers though. I know that Virgin has a well established network as well but I'm a man who enjoys fast data speeds when browsing the internet and whatnot. Can I get some opinions on Virgin from people within the Hamilton area?

Thanks!

I believe Virgin is a subsidary of bell. Try Fido (also owned by rogers) but rates lower

Yup Virgin is a subsidiary of bell, so they both use the same network. You can expect similar speeds from Virgin as you would from Rogers, Bell, Fido etc.

I don't have a smartphone so I can't comment on data speeds since I don't use the internet on my phone. However my service is great anywhere outside, though I sometimes have issues in certain buildings like MDCL or in basements. Mind you this could be because my phone is really old. And yes Virgin Mobile is owned by Bell so it uses the same network and towers I believe.

I have a nexus 4 and with Virgin, I have a signal everywhere on campus and even in the basements of every building. I don't have data on my phone so I'm not sure what the speeds are like
