Visitors & Welcome Week
I was wondering if anyone knows if visitors can attend welcome week as well. like if your sister or brother comes down with you to help you move in, would they be permitted to attend any welcome week events that do not need a macpass?

Yeah totally, when people were moving in I saw parents & family members. I brought my friends from Toronto for events that didn't require a macpass. It's all good. Always check the requirements for each event though.

Yup, it's definitely allowed. However, you aren't allowed to have guests in residence during the first week of welcome week. They only check after 8 PM (I think?). So as long as they're in before then, you should be fine.

During welcome week sign in starts in ALL buildings at around 9pm. This means that the entrance will be manned by C.A's who will monitor entrances and exits from the building.
You cannot have over night guests during welcome week.

You're not allowed to have overnight guests during welcome week. I don't think they would check your rooms, but that depends on the CA. But if there are any overnight guests walking the halls after a certain time they'll be asked to go home.

While its techncally possible to get away with overnight guests during WW, I don't know why you'd really want to. Welcome Week is about getting to know new people and getting used to your new home... which is a lot harder if your best friend from high school is right beside you the entire time. Having someone help you unpack and then hang out for the next few hours is fine, but really... you only get to experience WW once, so go crazy and get to meet the people that you'll be spending the next eight months with.

Psst: If you live in Keyes and the CA's are guarding the door, just have your friends wait in the lobby, go up on your own, then come back down the stairwell on the other end of the building and let them in.
Worked like a charm when the lobby was even remotely close to busy (which it often was)

LOL as a CA in Keyes I appreciate knowing how to beat the system so we can fix it ....in all honesty though, over night guests are not allowed, not to say that it doesn't happen in buildings. However, during WW while there are so many people on campus and visiting residences it also poses a security risk to have overnight guests. Plus imagine you have people over, and tehy break something. If its really severe you face getting kicked out of residence. Do you really want to deal with all that during Welcome Week let alone first year? While we know people want to have fun, we also have to ensure people's safety and that people are abiding by the rules.

you can surely bring guests. But they won't be able to stay the night unless the get a hotel or something. Welcome week is mainly for based for you... and I don't know how old your siblings are but some of the things that happen in res arn't kid friendly. Plus if you do decide breaking rules... someone might find out... your room mate may not be happy about it so there really is no point.

The fact that you still don't understand that there are CA's here, and a Keyes CA has already read and responded to your post shows just how naive you are.
You've pretty much just made it impossible for it to work ever again, assuming that Ronak tells the other CA's and they watch the side entrances.
