I got mine last week;
suffice to say, I'm gonna have a good christmas break at the bar and spending on anime and whatnot >>
Oh what am I talking about; it'll be spent on books... 'cause that's the HONEST thing to do right?

Nah honestly, it will be spent on books for next term, but consequently, it means I got $150 to spend on other things now... like beer and anime

I have a feeling if you applied for OSAP you've gotten yours, but if you're not on OSAP you will not have gotten it...that's what a bunch of us have deduced based on who has received theirs and who has not.

Probably; they most likely deemed higher priority for people that applied for OSAP based on their financial need for government assistance. It's probably the best guess.

Hey Everyone,

I was at Queen's Park today covering the CFS Day of Action for Maclean's.

I used my last question to the Minister of Training, Colleges, and Universities on this issue.

The Minister's office gave me details on what is occuring with the process.

Basically, if you received OSAP at the beginning of September; your cheque is in the mail.

If you applied online, the Ministry is in the process of communicating with McMaster to confirm you are a registered full-time student. (If you are an MSU member, you are considered full-time by the Ministry.)

When this confirmation process is complete, the mail will be printed and put in the mail.

The Minister's office expects that all students who applied already will have their cheques by the end of the month.

Anyone waiting willing to do an email interview for a piece I'll write for Maclean's online on this topic, please feel free to email me: [email protected]

Thanks for getting the updates Joey!! I'm still waiting for my check. Applied online and don't receive OSAP. I sure hope it comes in by the end of the month (in time for Christmas!)

I finally received my $150 cheque from the government today after months of waiting. It will be useful to apply to debt I racked up paying for textbooks out of pocket. This grant really should be better organized though, it would be a lot more useful if students had the grant in time to pay for their 2nd semester books.
