Ways to get involved!
Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know of a few events coming up that are easy ways to meet new people and get involved! For some of them you have to register in advance, but others you can just show up! Take a look and if you have any questions- email me at [email protected].

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 28
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND VOLUNTEER FAIR
(10:00AM-1:00PM MUSC MARKETPLACE) FREE
Visit over 50 community organizations to find out how you can get involved with and learn more about your community and gain experience linked to your academics and a future career.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 29

INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERING NETWORKING BREAKFAST
(9:30AM-11:30AM MUSC: CIBC 315) FREE
Are you looking to volunteer abroad but don’t know how to get started? With light refreshments, you will be able to network with various organizations and have all your questions answered!
To guarantee your spot, register early on OSCAR at Oscar.mcmaster.ca

SATURDAY OCTOBER 2
MAC SERVE
(10:00AM-4:30PM IN MDCL 1305 WITH A PLACEMENT IN
MISSISSAUGA FOR COMMUTERS) FREE
250 students, staff, and faculty will venture out into the Hamilton community and volunteer with important organizations while learning about themselves and the local community. The focus of these agencies will range from the environment and community services to health and poverty.
Register online at studentsuccess.mcmast er.ca individually or as a group by Sunday September 26th.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 3
YRUHERE CONFERENCE (9:30AM-6:00PM IN MUSC: CIBC HALL) FREE
Y R U Here is a leadership conference for first year students that live in residence. It will provide students with
the opportunity to develop communication skills, increase their self awareness and understanding of their
community.
Register online by Monday September 20th at 5pm. yruhere.mcmaster.ca

SUNDAY OCTOBER 3
MSU VISION CONFERENCE (10:00AM-5:00PM IN MUSC) $10
The Vision conference will be a day of workshops punctuated by a keynote speaker and culminating in a World Café. The philosophy behind the conference is to help students reap the most they possible can from their time here at McMaster. The themes that will run throughout the conference are engagement, ownership and awareness; the day will be a medley of different components, each serving a unique purpose and complementing the others.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 3
GO BEYOND– CLOSING CEREMONIES (BRIDGES STARTING AT 7:00PM)
