Welcome Week and Classes
Hey... I was just wondering how the days go after Sept. 4 when Welcome Week and Classes intertwined... Do we go to lectures while there's some WW activities outside? How does that work ?

Most of the events during those days take place during the evening. I can't say for sure what events will be happening in the evening as opposed to the day because they've changed the Welcome Week plans from previous years. Nicole is right, there will be things like the sidewalk sale going on all day and while you're going from class to class people will give you free toothbrushes and the like.

LoL. So uhh, the Thursday is Faculty night... generally first year night classes don't run during this time because profs know what's happening. Friday night is Charity Casino, and something else I'm definitely forgetting even though I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be doing some planning for it... hmm.
Edit: OH YEAH AHAHAHA, it's Comedy Fest...
In any case, night class for these first couple nights should not be on, and for the most part no first year class is going to go longer than 15 minutes.

Also, during the day on Thursday and Friday are events that last the whole day so you can check them out on your breaks between classes. The sidewalk sale is an excellent example of this.
As for Faculty night, we (science) do have buses leaving from campus at around 7 to get to the location so that in case some classes get out early, they can still make it! So, not to worry! We've taken this into consideration while planning as I'm sure all the faculties have.
If you do have classes during faculty night and it doesn't end early, also dont worry - each faculty runs countless events during the year that will more than make up for it!

Faculty Night does have classes...there is always a misconception that because Faculty Night is occuring there are no classes that night. Not true! Some of the classes (and even the first year ones) can go straight from the intro into the lecture material.
If you have a concern about missing one or the other, talk to your prof and ask what will be covered if you choose to go to Faculty Night.

Yes my first night class of first year was a full two hours. It was a pain in the arse because I had to run back to my room to get my laptop for notes.

Yeah, I said generally because it's usually true. Profs who do otherwise are the ones who set the tone at the beginning of the year that they are there just for the money and not for the students.
