Another no name band, here i am thinking that Mac would be getting someone a little more wellknown, what with the MSU making it mandatory for freshmen to pay for the Welcome week passes.. Well cant say im not surprised!

The Sheepdogs definitely aren't an "unknown" band. They recently graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine (although it isn't as prestigious as it once was), have been featured in numerous games/shows/movies, played at last years Festival of Friends here in Hamilton, and have done a great deal of touring. Also, turn on any rock station, and you're guaranteed to hear them about 5 times every hour.
I'm happy about it, but I would have rather seen someone like Metric.

They were on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine because they won a contest against 15 other bands, I guarantee no radio station plays a band 5 times in an hour, no matter how overplayed the songs may be, and playing at the "Festival of Friends" in Hamilton doesnt really make me think of a big name band. But yes there are a lot of bands we could have gotten that would have been better than this

I was just using Festival of Friends as a recent example of their connection to Hamilton. Also, my overplayed comment was sarcasm, which clearly wasn't picked up on, but when their song "I Don't Know" was released, which I believe coincided with their appearance on Rolling Stone, it got played so many times it's not funny.

Lol'ing at those who don't know The Sheepdogs. I'm pumped. Not my typical type of music, but I do like their stuff. They're a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of acts these days.

I always find it funny how when they get pretty good acts to come (which can be quite difficult in itself), people say they expected someone bigger. Yes, those groups that sell out stadium concerts decided they want to quit their busy touring schedule, to come play for 1000 people. I hear they found Lennon's and Harrison's DNA and are making clones of them to reunite The Beatles just so they can play Welcome Week 2013.
