Welcome Week Football Game Opener: McMaster vs Waterloo

McMaster will host the first welcome week football game on campus since 2003 with nearly 4,000 students expected in attendance on Monday September 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Ron Joyce Stadium.

McMaster finished the 2008 season with a 4-4 record before being defeated by Wilfrid Laurier in the OUA quarter-finals.

The University of Waterloo completed the 2008 season with a 2-6 record, and did not advance to post-season play.

Waterloo did however, defeat McMaster in week two of the season in 2008 by a score of 30-17 in the first game held at the new Warrior Field.

McMaster comes into the season with much optimism. The Marauders return 17 starters and 35 dress roster players, and should also benefit from the best recruiting class in the Stefan Ptaszek era.

There's a hole in the city and it's name is Waterloo,
If you're dull and boring then that's the place for you
*insert line I can't remember, something rhyming with 'oo'*
So f**k you Waterloo

Wouldn't it be "hole of a city"... just curious. I love that cheer by the way.

No I don't think so because the school is the hole in the city. The cheer is talking about the school and not the city itself.

sad news: general admission tickets weren't available (online) for this game at all.

I know, because I've been checking every day for about a week. now the site says they're sold out, and if I want to go, I have to spend $20 on a ticket (which is a waste because I'd rather sit in Gen Admission with everyone else).

so sad.
