Are you just trying to get your post count up? 3 threads in the span of like 5 minutes or so. Most people generally say that second year is much more easier than first year because you're adjusted to all of the changes and whatnot. But for me first year will probably serve to be much easier than second year due to other changes.

I wish I had a meme-face right now LOL.

It's all subjective. One year, you might end up taking "easier" classes, so your year might end up feeling easier than the other years. Do expectations go up? Yes and no. Some profs don't give a shit, while others expect you to be top shit. If you're willing to put in the time, each year should feel the same.

As the others said, it's all relative to your program. For many programs the second year is usually easier since you've adapted to university life, but for programs like Commerce it's harder.

I did decent in first year, then bombed second year. Third year was my best year.

It all depends on the person.

if you're someone who knew a lot of the content in your first year classes from high school, then second year will be tougher since the content will generally be more advanced and you won't know as much about it. that's not to say your grades will suffer, just you might have to put more time into studying. but getting into habits / schedules is a lot easier after adjusting to university life in first year, so it all balances out.

Depends if you put as much effort in second year as you did in first year. Some people try super hard first year and get lazy 2nd year, etc.

Alright, well I'm in the Humanities so I don't know about your program, but first year was a breeze for me compared to second. I have honestly never struggled as much in school as I did this past year, but I have heard that third and fourth year are relatively easier compared to second. So, as others have said, it really depends on the program/course-load/other factors.

Many people told me second year engineering would be easier. Boy were they wrong.

To OP:
It really depends on the program so there is really no definite answers since your work habits play an important role.

@Leeoku

Math is going to be very rough. I fell behind and barely passed 2z03 with a 1 and failed 2zz3. Just keep up with it as you go along. Another way is to just get rid of it now and do it in the summer to lighten your course load next year. You're starting to get more into the courses of your profession so new concepts will be introduced and such. Just the standard keep up with the work and you'll be fine is needed.

For computer engineering, maybe you could research what programming you are doing next year. Find the book possibly online or just start the program and play with it yourself.

lgdynasty says thanks to Leeoku for this post.

@Leeoku
Thanks for the tips. I tried to take 2z03 this summer but it was full. I did alright in the 3 math courses for first year although 1zc3 was my lowest mark. is 2z03 even remotely similar to any of those 3 math courses?

2z03 is more like 1zc3 cause there are some matrices in there. 2zz3 is more like b3 except I didn't see the similarities.

I'm trying to get into 2zz3 also but full.

I love how that's the first question you ask.

@the two above me: Wait, 2ZZ3's full? So he isn't increasing the number of spots at all?
