Who's Teaching in the Summer?
Anyone know who is covering these courses? I checked the timetable and its not up yet.
Or maybe who has done them in the last few years?
-PHYS 1B03
-ETH SCI 2GG3
-GEO 1HA3
-PHYS1BB3
Maybe some hear something from someone...
Thanks for your help.

Both physics 1B03 and physics 1BB3 are usually covered by the same professor. I am not sure who is teaching the courses this year, but last year physics 1B03 was taught by Dr. W. Okon.

Actually I'm not sure if this is true, generally speaking. I know of a few times when the profs who taught 1B03 and 1BB3 were different (including the year when I took them).

Prof. Sills told us that he was teaching PHYSICS 1B03 in the summer, and he is fabulous. He also told us he was not teaching PHYSICS 1BB3.

I had okon for both Physics 1D03 and 1E03 and he is a great professor, he can move a bit fast at times but if you pay attention he explains stuff really well. Oh and just keep in mind he has a very dry and morbid type of humour and if you ask a "dumb" question he will make fun of you.

If a child is on a 3m tall slide, what velocity will he reach as he hits a wall?

You shouldn't worry of being made fun of unless your question is legitimately stupid. He made fun of our class once because a bunch of people in the beginning of the year said there was no gravity in space on one of the i-clicker quizzes.

Oh dear, no gravity. Even I know that and I'm in 1L03...
But seriously, what did they think made orbits work?
((On a tangent, Astronomy is really cool. Anyone taken the 1st year class? Is it as Physics heavy as I think it is, or is it more theoretical? Cause Physics + me = gaping black hole of doom))

Spaghettification isn't all that bad.
Plus if you go into a super massive black hole you're actually alive past the point of no return.
Then you die...but...it's still a very impressive death.
Though it's unlikely that anybody would know of it because the distance to the nearest black hole would render anybody dead while traveling. Unless you had a spacecraft that was monitored by NASA.
