Why did SOLAR do this?
Hey guys,

For Chem 1A03, SOLAR will not let you proceed unless you have the same tutorial/lab number. However, in my schedule, they gave me a different lab/tutorial number :S

Is that why I am getting all these glitches like not being able to modify my schedule when I click modify?

Also, for Chem 1A03, I have the core I want (Core 4) and it's full, but when I drop it, and try to add it in again, it says that Core 4 is still full, even though I dropped it.

I want to change my lab/tutorial but I can only do this by dropping the class and adding it again, I cannot modify it. Any help?

don't drop your courses once registered. U may think a spot might open up if you drop, but it may not necessarily open unless your lucky to get it the first time. If you cannot really modify the changes its probably because you have to have it a certain way, meaning, if the tut/labs have to be the same number, it just has to. If your schedule really doesn't work for you, u can always speak with your academic advisor. She might have it sorted out for you but never drop the course unless you really don't want to take it any more.

Thanks. I have no idea why SOLAR would give me a different tutorial/lab number if they don't allow it when you want to modify it. And the lab I want is now full.

every registered student receives as automated personal timetable. It may not necessarily be the way you think of it to be. Different #'s for Chem tuts/labs may have worked then but since you've dropped the course completely, the spots fill up and trust me it fills up fast (depends on course). Now your limited to only occupying the available spots ( if any ). In this case, you've just got to choose the same lab/tuts regardless of whether it works for you or not.
However, now that its full, you may just have to speak with your academic advisor about clearing out a spot. http://www.eng.mcmaster.ca/about/peopleassocdean.html ( visit the link for engineers).

Honestly chem tutorials doesn't matter. They aren't mandatory and last everyday at a certain time. Most people don't even go to them cause it is a dropin basis. So you can go to a wed tutorial even if you are in a monday one.
