Solar Help Help Help Help
So SOLAR is telling me I can't pick any of my classes until the 17th but I am supposed to be able to pick tonight at midnight. Does anyone know why this might be?

Are you switching programs/faculties? It seems like you are switching from Social Science according to the dates.

Ok looking deeper, you seem to be going from level 2 SocSci to level 3. As such, the problem I could see is that you did not have enough credits to move on.

You need at least 54 credits to move onto level 3. If you failed a course or two, it may be the reason why you are held in level 2.

I had to drop two to deal with the course load and then I failed one. I am registered in three summer school classes, so I am assuming that's why?

Well yes, if as of current you have <54 credits earned, you will have to wait until you complete your summer classes, then contact an academic advisor. After you do that, they will transfer you into a level 3 program (fitting to your CA). After all that is done, you can then go into SOLAR and pick your courses.

If you have Term 2 classes, you may be waiting for a while. Just make sure you don't neglect to fill out your OSAP (if you swing that way). It'll work out though, they have enough seats reserved in classes as per the program size-- and if a problem with registering does come up, the academic advisor can open a new seat for you. No worries.

Note also that at the bottom of your Grade Report, it should say the programs you are eligible/ineligible for. Most likely it will say ineligible for PoliSci III, but that is what the academic advisor will change when you complete (successfully) your summer classes. Then you can do the whole SOLAR jazz.

Thanks for all the help! So if I don't get into the classes I need on the 17th can I go into an advisor and they will put me in those classes?

Yes, you would go to the advisor, and then they would flag your account. Basically, they would wait for your grades from your classes, and assuming you pass them, they would then let you enter level 3, and open a space for you, if necessary.

Like I said, it is honestly not something to stress over. This happens all the time. It may be a little inconvenient for a few weeks, but the end result will be the same as anyone else.
