Why it is important to learn English language?

Yes, because I can obviously track people down even though I'm the person who posts their full name, address, and pictures online.

If you look at a european perspective, about a third of the worlds wealth (GDP) originates from English speaking countries (US, UK etc...), So many europeans have learned already learned English in order to do business and trade. Because of this, english has become the second language of choice for most students, and as more people become fluent, ever more people want to learn it.
You'll now even see alot of intercultural communication between europeans from different mother tongues (ie: between a german and an dutchman), done in english, because its much easier to communicate if everyone to learns english as a second language rather than try to learn all of the languages around you.
Personally, I don't see this as a bad thing, it helps for everyone to have a common language, and its an added bonus for Canada if its english.
Also on another note, many people in europe Ive met seem to think english is a fairly straight forward and easy language to pick up. Then again, this is biased because I was talking to them in English  |

I think you're referring to the fact that many words in English can be used in many different contexts, the ridiculous large amount of sayings and phrases/idioms ther are, and that there are 500,000 words in the language
I can see how English might be hard to learn once you get beyond basic literacy. Communicating at a high level is difficult in any language, however. |
