It's improved greatly since beginning of last school year (September)..
Main problem that is noticeable is generally in and around MDCL.

I was with wind but switched to Rogers in less than a week. I was getting no reception in my basement (off campus). I called wind, and they said we can't guarantee reception in the basement, so there's nothing we could do. On the campus, the service was good, but data speeds were slow.

Since we have wifi all over the campus, i'd say don't go with wind. Instead go with a company such as Chatr

How is Wind reception throughout the GTA, and is there still service when travelling to the states?

Just check this coverage map Allan: http://www.coveragemapper.co m/windmap.php

Because no one can say "yes" or "no" to your questions.

You roam on T-Mobile or AT&T depending on where you are. What else would you expect?

The number of WIND Home towers in the area. Eventually if you zoom in, to a certain point, they will be listed individually.

Perhaps they expected to roam on Verizon?

Wind's great!
I had my phone just a week before school started, and since I live in Mississauga, I would often call and text people in Mississauga and downtown Toronto, and it works just fine.
The only problem is when I'm at JHE's basement -- which is often -- there's not much signal.
But yeah, all in all, i think it's great. (I'd turn off data most of the time though since I use wi-fi anyways)

This might help, it basically shows you the map of the coverage of the WIND Zone:
http://www2.windmobile.ca/en/pages/u...a n-west.aspx
But to answer your question, it's a yes. And I believe it's $0.10 per text.
Oftentimes, when I'm at JHE's basement, in my blackberry homescreen, the "WIND Home" changes to "WIND Away". I called someone in Tdot back then while it says "Away" - which I didn't realize -- and later found out that I had to pay extra cents for it. But yeah, your homescreen should tell you anyways if you're in the WIND zone.
