Windows Live not working!
So I sign in as 'Appears Offline', but when I switch my status to 'Available', I still show up as offline ( I added myself, so I know) - I've tried signing in and out several times, reinstalling windows live... nothing works!! help!

When anyone I know has problems with MSN/Windows Live, I say the same thing:

Use Yahoo.

Sounds like a connectivity problem. It's happened before.

Wait a little while and see if it goes away? It has happened to me several times before. It eventually restores connection by itself and goes away

Unfortunately, our culture is so ingrained with MSN Messenger, we can't switch.

I was hoping more people would get on the Google Talk bandwagon, but it just didn't catch.

Actually most of my friends and I are on gtalk now. At some point I didn't log in to any other messengers for over a year, until I finally installed pidgin and used everything in one. but I still used googletalk with everyone 80% of the time.
