Woman stabbed and sexually assaulted in Hamilton
Quote:
Hamilton police are looking for a suspect after a woman was stabbed and sexually assaulted in the city's west end early Saturday morning.
A woman was walking westbound alone on King Street West in the area of Paradise and Longwood Road around 2:20 a.m., said Staff Sgt. Mike Cunliffe of Hamilton Police Service.
A man attacked her from behind, when he “stabbed her and grabbed her sexually,” Cunliffe said.
The victim managed to break free and the suspect fled eastbound on King Street. The woman was taken to hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.
The man is described as:
a white male in his 20s
about six feet tall
having short dark hair
having a tan or a sunburn
Cunlife said that Hamilton Police are reminding the public to be aware of their surroundings to ensure their safety.
The ACTION team, the patrol unit and the sexual assault unit are investigating.
Anyone with information should call Det. Scott Moore at 905-546-4614 or Crime Stoppers.

What the hell, sucks to be that girl.
To be honest, I'm not surprised that it happened so close to the king and paradise rd. intersection. Too many sketchy people hang out by that metro at night, and there's been cases of people getting robbed/beat up in that area.

I picked up these at Titles when they were 75% off.. neat little gadget. Got one for my girlfriend a while ago and she loves it, my sister is also digging hers as well I just picked her up because you're apparently not allowed mace or pepper spray in clubs. Sad that these things would be needed in Westdale though!

Is the crime rate in Canada supposed to be lower than that in the US?

I'd be too afraid of that going off accidentally if the button was pressed :|

Actually, you have to push down the button to pull the thing apart for it to go off, but yeah, that can happen

There isn't really a police presence around here and that area in particular is largely ignored. Poor girl.
