Serious? I was really sick tho... Don't they have any alternatives like counting your mid terms as the exam?

Not usually, did you arrange to have it deferred?

Normally no, unless you had it arranged beforehand with the professor or the faculty.
Once you get your final mark, you can have it petitioned to be removed from your transcript. I believe this is very lengthy and usually doesn't work in the student's favour.
It would be best to talk to an academic advisor and see what your options are. They will know better than anyone else.

Yes, I have already submitted the documents... and the staff said the final decision will be given by some management people.... just being curious what if they don't approve my stuff, and how would my grade be counted.

Lots of courses have the policy of: "fail the final fail the course", and if not the exams are 40-70% of the mark.

Thanks for reply. I think I will just talk to my prof and see how it will be done.

Aren't you the one who posted about wanting to "defer" (fake sick) for exams to get out of them because you "weren't prepared"?

Kathy answered your question . If your request for deferral is not accepted, you get a zero for the exam. If you submitted all the necessary documentation though and it was a legitimate reason with a doctor's signature and all, I don't see why they wouldn't accept it though. Best thing is to go and speak to an academic advisor as Kathy mentioned.

Yep.

To OP: That's why you don't ask online where your post can potentially be stored forever, not that I condone deferring senselessly at all...

Simple calculate your average before the final exam using the mark you achieved multiplied by the weights, if this sum is below 50 and your document is not approved you will fail the course.

Yeah that's him. It's just weird someone would go through all this trouble to defer an exam when they could be spending the time studying.

Also OP, you might want to take your name out of your profile. If someone on here wanted to do something they could forward your threads to the appropriate department. A simple facebook search reveals so much.
