Write for the Frontline!

Write for the Frontline!

Do you have an interest in writing? Do you have no interest in writing what-so-ever but want to improve your writing skills but aren't sure how to do so? Do you want to see your name in print? If so, get involved with the McMaster Frontline!

The Frontline is the quarterly publication of the McMaster Social Sciences Society. This student-run newspaper has been in print for many years. Even though the paper is under the MSSS, we are encouraging students from all years and faculties to write with us. The McMaster community is a very diverse one, and we want the Frontline to reflect that. In previous years we have had students in Engineering, Humanities and the Sciences write for the Frontline. Why? Because no other student paper focuses on the fact that Mac is a diverse and open school.

The Frontline is looking for submissions from future and current McMaster students. You can write about anything you want! Tell us about your favourite times here at Mac, what inspired you to go to university and pick the field that you did, share a healthy student budget recipe, advice for first years, biting political commentary or anything else that happens to cross your mind! We welcome pieces of all lengths and all subject matter.

Please send your submissions to [email protected] .com! The due date for submissions is Sunday August 10th at 11:59PM EST

I've been doing some research...and aside from the Sil, the Frontline is one of the largest faculty publications on campus.

Could I use the Experiential Education article that I wrote for MacInsiders for the Frontline as well?

It doesn't have to be an article like we do here, we've got poetry and short stories, some testimonials about the whole coming to university experience, etc. You can write about whatever comes to mind, it doesn't have to fit into a category!

As many as you want Omega! We may pick one or two depending on how many submissions we get but you can send us as many as you would like to see published!

***SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED***

Due to Welcome Day and illness of one of the editors (me) we've decided to extend the submission deadline until Wednesday August 13th at 6:00pm.

Just as before, please send submissions to [email protected] .com

We've got tons right now...and we'd like to make this issue epic, so please keep sending us your stuff!

***FRONTLINE HIRING***

Also...two co-editor and one photo editor positions will be available for the remaining issues (three) of the year. These positions are PAID, so if you want to be considered for one of them I highly suggest you get yourself involved in this issue!!

to write for them you definately do not need any experience.

i didn't have any experience before i applied...and got hired. however i think the year before one of the co-editors had some. it all depends on the applicant pool.

Come September you will be able to pick up applications from the MSSS office in KTH (101A). The applications will require that you answer a few questions, include a piece of writing (or photography if you're applying for the photo-editor position) and are due Sept 8th.
