Yet another MSAF question
I know there's dozens of MSAF questions on this forum already, but I have specific question.
I want to MSAF an assignment for BIO 3S03 worth about 4.5%. It's due the same day as 2 midterms and I don't think I can get it done. However, there's no instructions for using an MSAF in the course outline. Does that mean the prof doesn't have to honour the MSAF or deal with the issue at all? I guess I'm wondering if using the MSAF is "safer" than just half-assing it and getting at least a few marks.

I believe worst case scenario is the exam/assignment being moved to another day. The prof is required to accept your MSAF. Just email the prof now and ask before it's too late.

Msaf
Profs are not obligated to accept MSAF's that is a bit of a fallacy. Most do but it isn't mandatory. It just gives you the ability to request some type of extension for medical issues, nothing more.

They can be refused depending on the assignment. It isn't unreasonable for an instructor to ask you to send them what you have done (notably on a large assignment) before deciding is the MSAF will be accepted.

Hey, I'm in that 3S03 class now. I don't see why he wouldn't accept an MSAF for an assignment and just move the weight to one of the midterms or the exam.

BTW, how are you studying for the 3S03 midterm on Friday? Just reading his slides?

Hey guys, I took that class 2 years ago and be careful what you decide to MSAF. I never MSAFed an assignment, but I had a friend who MSAFed the second midterm and he redistributed half of the weight to the first midterm (which she did terribly on) and half to the third.
