I'm one of the organizers!
Hey everyone!

As one of the organizers for McMaster's Career Fair 2010, I can assure you it's going to be an AWESOME event!

Here are some details:

Location: DBAC
Time: 10:00am - 3:00pm
What to bring: resume/cover letter
What to wear: if you're looking for a position, I would advise to come in business casual clothing - it is not uncommon to be interviewed on the spot!

We're also going to be offering Resume critiques all day and providing you with a place to edit and print out your resume after having it critiqued.

If you're a final year student, we are still selling networking reception tickets. This is your chance to talk to employers in a more intimate setting and follow up on opportunities that are a good fit for you. Visit our website for a list of participating employers.

Bobby66 did a great job at explaining the importance of events like this (thank you!). You can check out the list of employers on OSCAR.

* Remember, even if you don't think an employer might have a job in your field, its always worth networking with them - you never know what sort of opportunities might come up. Who you know matters!!

I'll be monitoring this thread regularly so feel free to ask me questions.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!

You can just stop by no need to register for anything ahead of time.

Hi Alison!

Good question! All students are invited to come; from undergraduates to PhD students.

The networking reception is for graduating year students only. Tickets are on sale now in GH 110!
The reception is a great way to speak with representatives about the positions that they are hoping to fill right away. Many students have walked away from the reception with potential job offers!
