One of my friends took the class and failed.
Another did really well because his dad is Japanese and he got help.
If your only other language is English it will be difficult, because you have nothing to base it on. If you know languages from the same family root it will be easier.

One of my friends took it and loved it. I started learning Japanese because of him, haha! It's a cool course but you have to want to learn it and constantly practice. It depends on what you're good or bad at to determine how easy or hard a course is. Naturally, I'm a quick learner when it comes to new languages-- others aren't.

Can you explain more about your friend who failed? Did he/she not try? never go to class? was too hard?
I was thinking of taking this class as well.

That was when we were in first year....so it's been awhile and I admit I don't know all of the specifics.
But from what I gathered once second term hit he couldn't grasp the concepts the needed quickly enough, so he'd fail things.

Dispite the story of the guy failing I think I will still take it. It looks like it will be really fun. Also I was talking to my brother and he said it is a good idea to take Japanese because if you can speak it it gives you better job opportunities because you have another language. I don't know what do you think? haha.

Yes, having a second language is advantageous.
However, seeing as how French is one of our national languages you may be better off with that. But, if you are planning on going into business Japanese is apparently an in-demand language.

Hi I am really interested in learning japanese!
I don't think it will be easy for me... but yeah I am very much interested...
I checked on the time table but it says it is only offered during term 3... does that mean only offered in summer school???
Thanks !
P-to-the-S
isn't summer school like 2 months long... wouldn't that be not so good for a language course?

language course?

Term 3 = Term 1 + Term 2 <---- both terms, therefore 6 units.

Just moments ago I applied my classes on SOLAR, and apparently the Japanese class is full. Would they open another Janpanese class if it's in high demand?
