WHAT IS IT?
The Residence-Wide Energy Challenge is an competition in which students in each Residence
building and Hall compete to see who can conserve the MOST energy!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The amount of energy each buildings conserves will be monitored three times a week
and posted on the Residence Information System (RIS)... the screens in the lobbies of all the
buildings. You can check for updates on the McMaster Sustainability website as well:

http://mcmaster.ca/sustainability/e_...g e_2011.html throughout
the duration of the Challenge.
WHAT'S THE POINT?
First of all, you contribute to energy conservation and learn ways in which to help
out with this now and in the future with ENERGY CONSERVATION TIPS posted on the RIS
system throughout the Challenge!
Secondly, the residence that saves the most energy from
the baseline (determined based on average daily energy consumption per building during the week
before Reading Week) will be named the 2011 Energy Challenge Champion! A plaque will be displayed
in Mary E. Keyes residence and the Commons building; there will also be a Champion Cup displayed
in the winning Residence building to highlight the success of these students!
P.S. Students who go above-and-beyond in promoting and taking part in this challenge will be
awarded special prizes for their efforts and commitment!
GET READY TO CONSERVE! Good luck to all Residences!
