Would it be a good idea to make a mock timetable now? I never bothered in first year since I just tinkered with it and adjusted it till I was satisfied.

A mock one is good if you want to have your 'perfect' schedule, aka maybe you want to start early and end early so you can change the cores of your classes around. Although scheduling is usually useful if you're deciding what courses (electives and where you have a choice) you can take so you can work around your mandatory courses.
Generally I plan out my courses and make sure they don't interfere with each other, and I find the best way to do this is to make a mock timetable anyway.

Can we only go to the tutorials listed under a core we'd prefer to go to or can we go to any tutorial any under core?
Can someone please provide me with a template for a mock timetable in Excel? I'm confused about how to get sorted. I have all my information ready. Thanks,
Humza

I never bothered making one in first year (there were way too many cores) but in upper years most of my courses only had 1 core (In fact in 3rd and 4th year I only have 1 core). So those were already set. I made a mock timetable just to see what tutorials I would prefer. It's definitely easier in upper years since there are so little choices and if you are that kind of person who really hate mornings or hate evenings then it's something that you should do.
I attached an overly complicated timetable. If you really want to, you can merge the times together so it goes 8:30 then 9:30 instead of 8:30, 9:20, then 9:30.
Also, don't forget to unmerge/merge and unhighlight/highlight as needed.

once again, i don't have 8:30 classes (YEY!) but some of the courses i needed to take for my degree are not even offered...
I attached my mock timetable. According to this, I still need to take 3 more courses. The ones here are my mandatory courses for my degree. I still need to think about other courses I want to take...

I finally finished making my mock timetable. Making one definitely helped and your template saved me time. In my second term I have so many unwanted breaks like 2, 2 hour breaks on Monday 1, 2 hour break on Wednesday 1, 3 hour break on Thursday. I pretty much cannot avoid them, so would it be wise just to try to get as much work done in those long time periods or should I more or less just relax? I haven't had a break longer than 1 hour in first year, so I don't really know what to do and feel somewhat bummed out now. My first term schedule is excellent though.
