2nd year acceptance question
I have a question regarding biochem acceptance. It says on the undergrad calender that you need to have a C+ cumulative average in Bio 1M03 Bio 1A03 Chem 1A03 and Chem 1AA3.
I got a 9.25 cumulative in the four courses however i wasn't accepted into biochem.
Would there be something wrong ? Who do i contact to fix it or ask about it ?

Perhaps you didn't make the cutoff?

HerBs meant the total GPA cutoff.

Yeah because other people who applied and the other people who actually got in probably had a (much) higher GPA than yourself. Just because you got more than what is stated by McMaster, doesn't mean you'll automatically get into the program then.

^he probably missed it by a little bit. 9.25 would have been good every year but first year science this year had higher averages in many classes than previous years and we also had more kids enrolled in science too compared to previous years. 9.25 woulda been more than enough in any year but this so far.

I'd call someone and ask. Its not uncommon for clerical errors. Its also even less uncommon for universities to not make exceptions for students. Try talking to your faculty advisors

9.25 was the OP's average between the 4 courses (2bios and 2 chems), not their total GPA.

Yeah, enrollment is limited and this isn't the only requirement. Mostly likely your overall GPA wasn't high enough to compete with all the other people applying to biochem. If you had an 11 average or something, then I'd contact someone...but otherwise, that's probably why.
