Question about second year eng
Got a 6.4 average. Applied to electrical engineering and management coop. Just questioning whether or not i should be optimistic and look for that ray of light of getting in, or just not bother and cry.

With a 6.4 you'll definitely get into a eng program! So congrats on finishing you first year, but as you know the Eng 1 department keeps all previous program entry requirements a secret.

Rumour had it for 2008-2009 electrical engineering (my entry date/program) minimum requirement was around a 5.8, but who actually knows. Hopefully you applied to computer engineering (with management) as well because the 2nd year courses are almost identical. One of my friends that had a poor 1st year avg (who couldn’t' get into electrical) could only get into comp eng. His 2nd year marks were decent, so before 3rd year started he transferred directly into electrical w/ co op. So you might be able to do something similar.

My only question is why management? You will need to take a full course load for 5 years, and have to take 2 stat courses! From my experience (9.4 CA) 3TQ4 was a b*tch, as it was one of my worse courses.

And that's with a full course load, right?
