2nd year Psych courses
I'm planning to shadow Psych in my 2nd year but I didn't take Psych 1xx3 in first year which means I can't take most of the 2nd year Psych courses. Psych 1xx3 is available only in the 2nd term. Would I be able to take the other Psych courses in the 2nd term with Psych 1xx3?

It depends on the prerequisites. If it says 'completion or registration" or "registration in" then you can. But if it's not specified then it's default "completed" so you can't take it at the same time.

In the calendar, it says this:

Prerequisite(s): Six units from PSYCH 1A03, 1AA3, 1X03, 1XX3 with a grade of at least C+ in each, and one of BIOLOGY 1A03, 1M03 (or 1AA3), 1P03 (or 1K03), or Grade 12 Biology U, and registration in a program in Psychology or the Faculty of Science; or ISCI 1A24; or registration in Arts & Science, the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours), the Honours Linguistic Cognitive Science or the Honours Music (Music Cognition) program

which means it has to be completed right?

Yes, you have to take 1XX3 in second term if you want to be formally accepted into the Psychology program by next year.

By the way, I just wanted to let you know, you can take courses in first term that require 1XX3. Because if you email the head of the psychology department with your intention to shadow the program, they most likely will let you into their 2nd year courses without having to do 1XX3 until second term. This way you can take more psych courses first term that might've required taking 1XX3.

Try it out.
