Interesting Facts: The current field of three female candidates ties the record set in 1991, the last time three women ran for MSU president (of a total of 10 candidates that year). There was also a two-way race of sorts between Sue Fraser and Mark Huttram in 1988. The third candidate, “Bob the Rhino” Cameron wore a black stocking mask surmounted by a white horn. While not a “serious candidate” in the conventional sense, he did get 494 votes on the first ballot count.
