That can be said about any world disaster. Noone really gives a crap about any of that, why should people care about it now? You know, people in Africa die by thousands due to wars and aids. And noone really cares about them (expect for Bono). Chinese have one of the strongest economies in the world. And they are the ones who need money?

Guys , seriously, stop arguing. You guys ruin the purpose of this post. The world is not perfect, not everyone is caring , why argue with those people? Those people have the guts to speak anything they want on the internet, but are speechless when facing other people in real life. I am proud of whoever organize this charity event, we know who are helping and who are idiots. There are so many idiots on this world, why argue with them? On a more serious note...Plintlett.... some of your initial posts had merit and reason behind them, but then you began to troll big time.

First, why/how would [u]students[/U, as broke as we are... be able to afford a flight all the way to China and back... that's about 3k. And even if you were to get there, all you could do was help remove the rubble, dish out food, help with medical care..... there really isn't much you could do in the long run. At least by spending their time and effort raising money they are able to help make a more lasting impact on the lives of the people affected, ideally. And all organizations and governments have corruption. China, Canada, the states, none are immune from this. As long as there are people like those in MACcssa that are willing to lend a helping hand, there will also be individuals like yourself, Pinklett, that undermine their efforts, spread disdain, and promote the corrupt.
