I am going into 2nd year commerce this Sep. I have got one 3 unit elective to choose tonight when SOLAR reopens , just wondering about a few things.

The requirement for 2nd year commerce is 30 units

If I take a first year course

1: is it counted in the final GPA for 2nd year?
2: is it counted as 3 units to make up 30 units?(just making usre - - !)
3: or the elective has to be a second year course.

1. Yes
2. It has to be a non-commerce elective.
3. I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter otherwise it would have said something about level requirements. (For my program they say I have to have a certain number of credits from level III and IV). But in your case it doesn't say anything, so all electives should be game. Check your degree audit to make sure though.

one last question,,, what if I take 1st year Music course, is it still counted in 2nd year GPA? cuz from what I have heared, music course average is always very high

Yes, all courses you take during second year count in your second year GPA.

does that 30 unit requirement thing mean that I have to take 30 units in total starting in september? I took summer school so I was hoping that I could just take 27 units in september...

This is something I'm not sure of. You'll have to talk to an academic advisor about that. Because when you take summer school after 1st year, you register your courses under 1st year. But you already the 30 units requirements, so the units are really extra units and should be used in your upper years. But I'm not 100% on that.
