The faculties want to do their own thing, so they haven't provided a lot of details. I'm sure as a first year student you could contact them and ask, however.

They basically go through SOLAR with you step by step and give you a chance to register your courses with an actual faculty advisor there to answer any of your questions. If you're already registered in SOLAR and followed the MacInsiders steps that Danielle and I have posted about, then you'll be ahead of the game and most likely don't need to go unless you have a question you want to ask them.
