All night thing...
So the ninjas at macinsiders closed my thread. I guess its my fault for not including anything with substance in the opening post.

Anyways, the title of the last thread is actually a song. It wasn't me crying over a break up.

Which brings me to why I created this thread. Could you kind people please suggest to me some acoustic/alternative rock music? I'm hoping to discover some new artists. Doesn't have to be acoustic.

Here are a few songs to give you an idea of what I'm looking for. I won't embed them, so as not to take up a ton of space.

Thanks, although I'm not sure of which work you speak. Any artist suggestions for me?

Yup, kinda like that, or like this...

I'll have to give it a few listens and see if it grows on me.

Thank you.

(Maroon 5 is a band, not the lead singer).

Oops. ADAM LEVINE is hot. That's what I meant. But thanks for knowing what I was talking about, because clearly you think he's hot, too!

Xavier Rudd: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZmSz6Iw3zw (starts off mellow, builds up afterwards)
Timbre Timber: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Tfw8...ture=re lated (Not quite sure if his voice is quite your taste; I think it's unique and nice to listen to)
Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpYKtirbA7E (Nice instumental in the begininng)
Thousands: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnI28mOtbyM (Very nice guitar work; vocals not as much of a focus here)
Robin Pecknold (of Fleet Foxes): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4HPl...eature=related (This might be a bit of a stretch, but I couldn't NOT include him. One of my favourite vocalists/guitarists)
Jose Gonzalez: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqGk2...eature=related (Really interesting guy; apparently got his masters in biochemistry but gave that up for music)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head!

He wrote a song for the game Red Dead Redemption. The song itself is amazing, IMO but its even better when played in the game just because of how the game was structured. Its set in the "dying west" (i.e, 1911) and the game has no music with vocals in it - its just some classic western themes, most of the time you can't hear any music at all, its pretty much the sound of you travelling on your horse the entire time - if you'd play the game you'd probably understand what I'm talking about.
Anyways, one thing leads to another where the story eventually has you running away in the night on your horse to Mexico during the night and then suddenly this song come, and its probably my favourite single video game experience because of how much of an impact this song had during this point in the game.

I enjoy a wide variety of music, so recommend me anything. Although, try to avoid mainstream music, not to say it is good or bad, but I've probably already heard of it.
I'll give your suggestions a listen and let you know what I think.

Mark Kozelek is a pretty good lyricist. I like some of the songs he did with Red House Painters, but I've never really gotten into sun kil moon. We'll see if I do with a few spins of that song.

Thanks deegs, Jose Gonzalez seems like an interesting fellow. Is that the squeal to red dead revolver? I remember renting that game from blockbuster ages ago.

So since I've got people suggesting me music, I'd like to open it up to more than just acoustic rock.

Harder Rock

Audioslave - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMEGCObAq8Y
Soundgarden - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmIqIVxUuKs&f eature=related
Alice in Chains - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgWFb_ATpXE
Eternal Life - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU97r...eature=related

Softer Rock

Low Light & nothingman - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=355Mtwpt4K0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMZsqxrPuIQ
My Morning Jacket - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ-lWzNroy4
John Denver - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZiL1...eature=related
In a little while - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtVAJ...eature=related

Instrumentals

Funkadelic - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh3bleXWaCk
John Frusciante - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkQDB7pTK3I
David Gilmour - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5aOh...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJEBN...eature=related

Even throw in some reggae and surf music, its all good.

Turn your lights down low - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjGxA3B5hHw
Girl I wanna lay you down - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZRvtr2g3z0
On my mind - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGATcoFQaaE
Baby's got sauce - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDqADZygseM

Most of the bands/artists I like do a mix of harder and softer music. So if you have any suggestions, suggest away.

....Too much procrastination lol

Yes it is, but both games are pretty different - the new one is essentially GTA circa 1911.
