What's Going On: Monday September 13th

- OPIRG Resource Centre Open House - 11-4 - MUSC 229 -
Come check out our great books, publications, films and documentaries.
Enjoy some excellent vegetarian food and good conversation.
...Connect with working groups and activists.

We have over 1800 resources on topics such as social justice, environment, education, peace, economy/politics, urban development, and health, among others.

- Take Back the Night information - 11-2 - MUSC Atrium -
Stop by the MUSC atrium for information on what's going on this year at Take Back The Night and what campus and community based organizations are doing to end violence.

- Positive Space Workshop - 2-5 - MUSC 311 -
As part of OPIRG’s Alternative Welcome Week, this positive space workshop organized by CUPE 3906's Equity Action Committee will offer anti-oppression training and an opportunity for unionized and non-unionized folks at McMaster who identify as LGBTQ or as straight allies to meet each other and organize as a collective on campus. The workshop will be held in MUSC 313/311 from 2:00-5:00 on Monday, September 13, 2010. Folks who cannot attend the workshop are still encouraged to come for the food at 4pm!

-Dub Poetry Workshop + Open Mic - 8pm - Bridges Café -
Whether you're a dub-professional, newly dubbing or interested in the dub, come out to see Hamilton's finest Klyde Broox and D-Lishus perform and transmit some dub-ability.

Dub poetry is a form of spoken word performance poetry originating in the West Indies. Dub artists will perform and facilitate a workshop on dub poetry and will then leave the stage open for anyone who wants to perform a poem, a song, a dance, or any other form of creative expression. Bring an instrument if you'd like!
