Anyone concerned abt marks due to strike
Am i the only one who is concerned that our marks will drop like hell if our exams/midterms are weighted more heavily. Tutorial/labs usually end up bumping our marks. Will the profs end up curving the marks or making the exams/test any easier if the stike continues?

I'm pretty sure assignments will still be due.
Once the T.A.s are off the strike, they'll just have to play catch up.

Tutorials will still run for first year Psych - so that 10% is not being redirected. Just an FYI.

I'm sorry, but a 10-20% grade redistribution is not a big deal.
In first year my Bio class was two 25% midterms and a 50% final. I missed a midterm so it became 35% midterm and 65% final.
I missed a midterm in first year calc as well, so my final was re-distributed so that it was worth either 68% if I did poorly or 72% if I did well.

Not everyone does well in the same areas.
I know tests and exams stress a lot of people out and they tend to make up their marks on their assignments. Having a final exam weighted more heavily may be a big concern to them. Just because it isn't a big deal to you doesn't mean it isn't a big deal to other students.

I actually do terribly on exams, truth be told.
10% of your final grades being re-distributed isn't a big deal, which is my point. If 20% of your grades or more are being re-distributed then it's cause for concern.
If tutorial grades are being re-distributed at all, it likely would only be a portion of it, since we are more than half-way through the term, and there would be marks there already.

I'm not concerned about marks at all if midterms/exams are worth more. I'm sure if you study harder you'll end up with a good mark? And I don't think it's necessary for profs to bell the marks just because of a strike. Don't assume that marks should be belled in every course.

Kind of. Matlab assignments are worth I beleive 40% in Math 2Z03 for us engineers. Matlab is a nice way to pad the marks, but with the strike, I'm afraid of whether or not they will now include these marks. If not, the Tests will be weighted more, and that will be a pain in the ass. Fo'Real.

Humanities classes don't get that luxury. I've never had anything bell-curved.
