Can anyone who took Japanese 1Z06 with Dr. Iwai in the past tell me a bit about the difficulty level of the course? Since it's 6 unit course, I don't want to regret taking it in the middle of the year. If it helps, I've taken language courses in the past before university and did quite well on them.

If you're genuinely interested in the language, you'll like it. Iwai is very thorough in her teaching and fair in her grading. But you can't slack off in this course, it starts off easy but the pace picks up quickly. It's enjoyable and you'll learn alot. Just make sure to practice on your own time!

I agree with the above post. You can't slack off in this course. You have to put your time into Japanese since this contain a lot of memorization to do. Dr. Iwai is a pretty good prof and I enjoy her class. If you put your time into it and study, you will do well in the course.
