DEFINITELY look into jobs within the MSU... fun indeed! All job postings can be found
here. Many of the part-time manager positions (coordinators for MSU services like SHEC, PAC, MACgreen, etc) are up now.
With SRA, the elections for those are around mid march with at least a week of campaigning before hand. If you're thinking about running for a position on the SRA, I would highly recommend getting involved on a committee. The
Elections Committee currently has one seat open for any MSU member (any student with 18 units or more). The University Affairs committee also is l
ooking for two MSU members to join their group. If you're interested in either of those two, definitely contact Jon, the CRO, and/or Chris Martin, the UnivAffairs Comm for more information. Their information can be found on the links for each committee.
The two committees I've listed above are just two of the many available that you can participate in. The 'spots' that are available are designated for voting seats on these committees. But that definitely does not mean that these committees don't need more participants! It's seriously the more the merrier!
I've listed all of the various committees that are looking for participants below.
-
SRA Bylaws and Procedures Committee
-
SRA Operations Committee
-
SRA External Affairs Committee
-
SRA Finance Committee
-
SRA Services Committee
-
SRA University Affairs Committee
I've linked to contact information for all of the committees. The meeting times will likely change for most if not all of them because peoples class times change each semester. But, if you're interested in any of the committees, email the chairperson and ask them to put you down on the email contact list so that you'll be kept in the know on what's going on with each of them.
The MSU services are also always on the prowl for more volunteers..
Write for
The Silhouette, or volunteer with
MACgreen,
SHEC,
Teaching Awards,
Poster Monkeys,
SWHAT, get involved on a
CLAY committee... instead of me writing out all of the different services there are, please just go
here. :p
THEN, there's also CLUBS! Clubsfest II and III are coming up in second semester, one of them being during frost week. If you're looking to participate on any club, check out the listings
here. This is where you can find a list of all the clubs and links to contact information for their organizers.
lorend (aka Danielle) is a current ptm for compass and I'm currently an SRA member and a staff member at the marmor so between the two of us I'm positive we can answer y'allz questions.
For all those still gung ho for an RLS position, definitely see what you can get involved in during second semester as I'm sure it would help your chances in the hiring process
