Nope, never did...I have seen videos on youtube about that but I am too scared to open up my own laptop and clean it lol
Also, I kinda don't wanna pay to get it cleaned, I heard it's expensive to do that :/

What type of laptop do you have? Some are designed really well. For my laptop I have a panelled bottom so I just unscrew 2 screws to get to the fan and heat-sink. Then I unscrew the fan and heat-sink and clean them out with compressed air. I just did it today, took me like 5 minutes to clean and put everything back together.

Lol, atleast it sounds like you can access it easily. HP has pretty terrible designs (or atleast they used to, I haven't really looked at laptops recently) where you had to dismantle like the entire laptop to get to things you wanted to get at.

I don't think you can really screw anything up if it's simple to access it (I'm sure you can find a video on youtube)... plus if your laptop is a couple years old then your thermal paste is probably rock hard too which also contributes to the heat build up.

There is that one line of HP laptops that have been know for overheating but either way a cleaning of the heatink/fan will make a huge difference.

If you don't feel comfortable, I am sure there are plenty of people on macinsiders or even in your classes that would do it for ya. It wouldn't take more than 10 mins to do a simple cleaning.
