So SOLAR is going to make up a timetable for the courses i've chosen, right? Will they put it up on SOLAR so we can view it on august 9th?

when SOLAR reopens it will have put you into lab, tutorial and class slots that shouldnt coflict. at that time you can move them around if you want- to get certain days off or only afternoons or what have you : ) .

Your timetable is not located in SOLAR, when you click the MUGSI link on the mac homepage it will take you to a page where one of the option is undergrad timetable.

Your timetable is autogenerated in august, before SOLAR reopens. You can access it by going to mugsi homepage and clicking timetable on the left. If you see conflicts, you gotta fix it when SOLAR reopens.

are you only allowed to make changes if you're fully registered, eg. youve selected your payment option and everything?

No, but those that are fully registered can access SOLAR on the 11th. Those that aren't have access starting on the 16th (I think).

Before SOLAR opens , is there anyway of figuring out how many spots they have left in a specific core?
Example:
I have Chem 1A03 and Chem 1AA3 with Goward and like everyone else , I would like to get into Lock's class. Is there anyway to find out how many spots are left? Are all the spots given out to begin with? Or do they hold extra spots for people wanting to switch into that specific core?
and just out of curiosity, how do they pick who gets what core, when more than one core selections work with the schedule?
Thanks in advance!

no point in changing cores.. because even tho you are registered for Goward, no one will ever know if you show up to Lock's..

No, I don't think so. Still hasn't changed over all these years...

They probably put in all the people who can only fit into one section first, and then the rest are pretty random. But just like the above poster said, for large lectures like Chem, no one cares or can tell if you are going to another section. HOWEVER, for future reference, you need to be careful because with some courses (mostly certain socsci/humanities courses I believe) the prof does matter because each prof writes their own personal exam. It doesn't for most science courses, as all students take the same exam.

They actually fit students into cores depending on their schedule. They schedule the maximum amount of students without conflicts. That's why they don't allow students to pick their sections (for most of their classes), they want to make it easier for students.
