Humanities?

You probably need a 2.0 avg to stay in.

Well, the Calendar says you need a 3.5 to transfer in... which is really low. Most programs have academic probation starting at 3.9 so... probably just need a 4.0 to stay in. Really not surethough, couldn't find it anywhere. >_<

Don't you need at least a 6.0 to get into most of the 2nd level Humanities majors?

You should probably look at the averages for the program you want to be in, not just staying in Humanities. Some programs have higher averages than others- you might be able to stay in humanities, but not in the program you want.

EDIT: So yeah, now that I see what Stef posted, a 6.0 is what you should probably stay above so you have the greatest selection of second year programs.

But aim as high as possible regardless!

You also have to watch out for limited enrollment programs if you're interested in any of those since they will require a higher average.

Also depending on what program you're interested in you need to get a higher average in the core courses for that major, as well as maintain a certain overall average. For example if you wanted to get into Communications you might only need a 6.0 overall average but you may need a 8.0 in Communications 1A03.

Lastly you should try and do your best, not just try and aim for an average that will allow you to stay at the University.

Man, you are a gigantic tool.

Maybe one day you'll realize this, but in the meantime, I hope you get hit by something very large moving very fast.

Okay, I just went through all of this with my academic councelor. SO as far as I remember (and check this because it might not all be accurate):

You need to choose what you're going to major in, first off. So you need two classes in what your major is going to be and in each of those classes you need to come out with at least a 7 (if you want to get into the 2nd year honours program). If you DON'T want honours then you just need a 3.5 at least (but still in the two classes). If you want a minor as well, then you need two of those classes also but you only need at least a 3.5 (you don't need honours for a minor). Actually, you don't have to do honours in any program if you don't want to. The rest are electives. But all 10 classes must average out to at least a 6 to get into the honours program, also.

I hope this helps, and I'm sorry if its not all accurate, but I'm like 95% sure that it is. But its all in the Course Selection Guide Book. If you don't have that book, go to the Academic Advisory office on the main floor of CNH. They have them on the front desk and you can just take one. Also, I recommend seeing an academic advisor. They're really helpful. Good luck!

Yes, that's true. I'm not positive what they are, however.
