cumulative average
can anyone tell me if summer school marks are counted towards your cumulative average? im so confused and stressed because instead of dropping a course i should have, i stayed in it thinking i would pass and i ended up failing. so im taking the course in the summer, but then how will they calculate my average? do they count the 0? i need my mark from summer school to boost up my average and im afraid i wont be accepted into anything i want if they see i have a 0:(

A 0 is absolutely included in your average. Your summer school course is also included in your average. So say you get a 10 in summer school, that averages out to having taken a six unit course and gotten a 5.

ok, because i had a choice between taking my math 1a03 again or just taking 1ls3, so it still averages out that way if i decide to take the 1ls3 right? the girl at the student services office said they look at your mark as a separate session but they still look at it so i was a bit confused. she said i need to call them when my mark is up at the end of april

What they meant was, the 'cumulative average' will see a 6-unit course with a grade of 5 (assuming you get a 10). However, your 0 will still appear on the transcript.

Also, you undergo an academic evaluation every year in May, assuming you take more than 8 courses I believe it is. This is used for determining scholarships, academic status and things like that.

This means that if you take the course in the summer, this will count toward 'next years' evaluation, and not the one in May.

Also if you're having trouble in Math, make sure you take advantage of the Math Help Centre and tutor list. (: They're really good resources!
