So I feel most of the academic advisors in science are useless at getting anything done. I need something done asap and I was wondering if anyone had a specific academic advisor they recommend talking to.

To be honest, I think your best bet is asking your program's advisor. I know that my program's advisor was far and above a million times more helpful and reassuring than speaking with any of those science advisors.
