I'm really concerned. The problem is that I took Computer Science 1TA3 which is at the same time as my Geog 1HB3 course. Typically I wouldn't be interested in Computer Science but i need it to transfer into business next year. The other computer science cources are too advanced for me and multimedia would fit perfectly in my timetable but that course is nearly impossible to get into since its full. I really dont want to drop Geog 1HB3 because I would actually be interested in it and none of the other cources really appeal to me since a) the other couce i like is in first term so it would make my workload heavy in term 1 and b) it would conflict as well. I really dont know what to do will i be forced to drop Geog or should i try i appeal to get a seat in multimedia or something else? I have no idea what to do!!

You can live with the conflict, you would have to skip one of the classes. I highly recommend NOT doing that though, not in your first year anyways.

You'll have to take another course, keep checking MMedia everyday until the drop/add deadline on September 28th (for first term, second term is January 21st).

You could also try emailing the dept to see if they'll open up a spot in mmedia for you. The worst they can do is say no, so it can't hurt to try

Can you tell me who I can contact in the media dept please? I'm really stressing a lot about this.

http://csmm.mcmaster.ca/contacts.html

That would be the academic advisor for multimedia.

I'm not familiar with multimedia courses at all (I don't even know the course code of the course you're talking about). I googled "multimedia mcmaster", clicked on the first link (multimedia.mcmaster. ca), clicked on 'contact us', which leads me to this page: http://multimedia.mcmaster.c a/contact.htm
Try the multimedia academic advisor?

Edit: The contact info I found is different from Jeremy's. I have no idea which one is right :S

Sorry its 1AO3 seemingly the hardest course to get into in McMaster. Should I call them and ask for a cource waiver or just e-mail?

Don't drop 1HB3. It's what opened my eyes and transferred me last year. I promise you won't regret it.

I'm guessing that they will be unwilling to open up anymore spots in MMEDIA 1A03. Based on history.

I am literally restricted to make any changes on my timetable. If I drop Geo 1HB3/change it to term 1 it creates a dominoe effect in my timetable which makes my cource load uneven or it creates conflicts. The 1 option i have is moving Geo 1HB3 to first term and move one of my term one classes to a night class which i really dont want to do. I think i'm in bigger trouble than i first thought....

Night classes are my favourite things ever. I wish I could take all of my classes at night.
