I hate to tell you that regardless of how much you study you will do fairly bad.
His tests are random questions that he gets from god knows where

I remember having Dushoff and Kolasa, and absolutely nothing from How Humans Evolved was covered. It sounds like Quinn is more difficult.

as i have said many times, quinn is like the worst prof alive. the first term profs were apparently super chill and everything was good n no one even touched how humans evolved but that is not the ccase with quinn. you can read the book and study ur ass off but u won't do well (no offense). i have NO IDEA where his questions come from and they are like a paragraph long and completely random. HOWEVER, work hard and you can still do decent in the course

Quinn really hasn't gotten into his part of HHE yet. I dunno how much he can possibly pull from it if hes only teaching 2 classes on it before the test. Hopefully thats a good sign..

That's true but he has mentioned in slide that we need to read ch. 15 and 16 so I feel like that would be considered fair game even if he hasn't taught it yet.

Quinn s 2nd midterm was easier than 1st. Questions were fair. if u read the stuff from how humans evolved, you should be fine. I had kajurra for ecology part, so that was straight forward.

i don't think it's worth your time to read how humans evolved, i never bought the book and ended up doing pretty well in the course.

I'm not sure what material Dr Quinn covered with your class (I only had him for the first half of 1M03), but I found it useful to do the problems he recommended from the textbook and study the class notes. I didn't even read the textbook or 'How Humans Evolved' (didn't even buy the book! haha) and still did really well on the test. His tests are not regurgitation like you might be used to from previous bio courses (minus a couple weird MC questions)... the long-answer questions are fair, application-style and require some thinking.
Definitely study and understand the things he focused on in lecture, and it should hopefully go smoothly.
msms
says thanks to marcie for this post.
