I think an important question you ask yourself is what about biology you really enjoy. I was in Molecular Biology this last year and my housemate was in the physiology specialty- both great programs, but there are definitely some differences. I know they have shuffled around some of the biology programs so don't quote me 100% on the courses you may have to take, but I found myself taking lots of courses similiar to biochem, focusing on DNA, finer cell processes, whereas my housemate in physiology took botany and ecology. Personally, I dislike botany and ecology, therefore I found my program much more enjoyable. I would say your best bet is to look at the types of courses you will have to take in the future and see which have more that you are interested in...maybe if you're like me your choice will be a little more clear cut. Another option/advantage you have with the molbio & genetics specialization is that there is co-op, so if you're looking for real-world experience, that could also make your decision easier.

Ashlie - physiology students are only required to take Bio 2F03 (ecology) in order to open up higher level physiology courses (3TT3/3SS3/Field Bio courses). You aren't actually required to take Botany unless you want to take Plant Physiology (bio 3B03)

But, what Ashlie said is true. Choose your program based on your own interests.

Mol. bio is better if you're interested in cellular processes in a smaller scale.

Physiology is better if you're interested in larger organ systems and how things function in organisms.

Yes, you are right- sorry for the generalization.
A good thing though is that regardless of the program you choose, you do have electives, so you can take animal physiology or upper level mol.bio courses as long as you have the pre-requisites.
