Black Knight | Kids of the World 5th Annual Badminton Tournament


Hello everyone,

The Kids of the World Badminton Tournament, a fundraiser for World Vision, is hosted by the Toronto Multicultural Youth Council in collaboration with Federation of Badminton Clubs. The location details are listed below.

What:
Are you ready to show your badminton skills? Are you ready to have some fun? The Kids of the World Badminton Tournament is on! Get active and have fun while supporting your community! ALL of the money raised will be going to World Vision to sponsor children in third world countries. TMYC’s goal is to also sponsor more youth around the globe and provide them with living necessities.

This year, we’ve changed the age groups so everyone can participate, INCLUDING anyone 19+ and 200 dollar CASH PRIZE for Boys 19+Winners thanks to one of our sponsors!!!!! So get practicing! There are more prizes for everyone, and we will continue to announce them as time nears our event! You really do not want to miss out!

Why badminton? Anyone can get active playing badminton: People from all cultures can join in, which is something that we at TMYC try to promote. We want to create an accepting society. This is one of TMYC’s biggest events of the year!!!

Flying Dragon Badminton Life Center! New facility!
30 Vogell Road unit 3, Richmond Hill, ON L4B 3K

Who:
5 Age divisions:
10 and under, 13 and under, 16 and under, 18 and under, 19+

(No international ranking, or national ranking for past 3 years allowed for juniors/intermidates)

19+ (Open Recreational)
NOTE: Players with a national ranking above 19 years of age can play in the 19+ division.

FORMAT: Round Robin + AB Flights. Guaranteed 2 matches minimum.

Boys Doubles, Girls Doubles, Mixed Doubles

When:
(Reading Week)-Sunday February 17th (U18, 19+)
(Family Day)- Monday February 18th (U10, U13, U16)

Cost:
10 and under, 13 and under, 16 and under, 18 and under
$20 per event/person (Ex. Boy’s Doubles OR Girls Doubles OR Mixed Doubles)
$25 per 2 events/persons (Ex. Boys Doubles & Mixed Doubles OR Girls Doubles & Mixed Doubles

19+
$25 per event/person (Ex. Boy’s Doubles OR Girls Doubles OR Mixed Doubles)
$30 per 2 events/person (Ex. Boys Doubles & Mixed Doubles OR Girls Doubles & Mixed Doubles)

Prizes:
Prizes and trophies for all divisions! (OVER 1000 DOLLAR PRIZE VALUE GIVEN AWAY! Thanks to Black Knight!)

REGISTRATION:

1. Go to tmyc.ca/badminton2013/ and download our registration form + waiver.

2. Fill out a registration form and waiver COMPLETELY
to hold a spot for you and your partner

3. AND send a copy of your registration form to: [email protected]

4. Print out the form AND waiver and come pay on one of the days listed below, or contact Ruby (me) at [email protected] to arrange a meeting time for payment and registration form pickup! It’s mandatory that you pay prior to event to confirm your enrollment in our badminton tournament; otherwise you won’t be able to play.

Oriole Community Center at 1pm-4pm
Miliken Community Center at 4pm-7pm
L’Amoreaux Community Center at 4pm-7pm
Brother Andre Catholic School (Saturday)- 7 pm- 10pm
Markham District High School (Sunday) 1 pm-4pm

No Partner?
We can pair you up with someone if you would like to play, but don’t have a partner. However, you must give TMYC 3 weeks’ notice beforehand, and there’s no guarantee that you will get a partner, but we will try our best!

Please indicate that you need a partner on the application AND in the subject line of the email.
