Blocked Courses?
Hey,

I was just wondering, what are blocked courses? Does that mean they're cancelled?

I was looking at PHYSICS 1B03 for next term,
and it said
C03 BLOCKED
C04 BLOCKED

But on SOLAR, C03 was available...

So I'm just confused what a blocked course really is. Thank you! =)

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

I know what you mean. It's exactly how you described it. I have seen tutorials blocked before.

As for why a course may be blocked, I don't know. I looked up "blocked courses" on the McMaster website, but it just tells me that it means the department has blocked the course. Blocking could be due to trying to restrict access to certain students or maybe they are thinking about closing the section. Once again, I'm not sure what the case is, but for now, you won't be able to register into blocked sections, so register into another one. If you are really curious, you should probably contact the department directly.

It means that the tutorial/course time is changed. Well in my experience, I signed up for a class for term 2 which was originally a day course, I got an email from my department saying it was going to be a night course instead and the course had "blocked" status in the master time table.

Hope that helped!
