Brandon Hall to Re-Open Jan 4th

Brandon Hall to Re-Open Jan 4th

Brandon Hall residents who opted to remain in the residence system will be will be happy to hear that the move-in date is set for January 4th. Empty boxes with labels will be sent to students staying in hotels before the end of exams which residents are asked to put in anything they don't plan on taking home for the holidays. Those boxes will then be taken to the storage location to join the rest of the large items being stored from Brandon Hall rooms. Movers will then take those personal belongings from the storage facility and have them placed in students' rooms so when they move back in for second semester their items will be waiting for them in their rooms.

A couple things to note:
  • All residents are able to move back in from all floors
  • You will be moving back into your original room
  • The building has been cleaned, and most items replaced (new matresses, carpets replaced or cleaned, new smoke alarms, walls painted or sanatized, etc)
  • One elevator will be working in January. A second is expected to be running in February.
  • The $200 commuter payments will end effective December 18th
  • The Brandon Hall lounge will close December 17th
  • You will be able to stay in your hotel room until 12:00 noon the day after your last exam. Details about your specific move-out date will be emailed to you.

Chad:

What about the few students that were able to be accommodated from Brandon in the other rez? Are they going to get their stuff moved over to Brandon too?

hey Emmy, you should check your email you will be given instructoins as to what to do next. you may or may not be asked if you would like to stay where you are or move back to brandon and more informatoin will follow. just check your email if you have problems, just contact housing and conference services.

for those that did opt out and would like to return, they might be able to do so. just go ask housing and conference services if they can accomodate that.
