It depends on your situation, and how many you apply for...I don't think there is a "usual" amount, and I'm not sure how many bursaries are automatic consideration, since you have to demonstrate financial need in order to get them.

There's the general McMaster bursary you can apply for later in September. There will be an announcement when it's available.

I got 700 in first year and 800 in second year. Those were probably the minimums (not counting 0$).

well there's the entrance award that everyone is eligible for, if that's what you meant ?
That's all I got, considering I didn't apply for anything beforehand lol
There's a list of them all here:
http://sfas.mcmaster.ca/entrance.html

EDIT: I mean, if you're looking for something you don't need to apply for lol because I believe it's a little late to be applying for a bursary now

It's definitely not too late to apply for a bursary. As mentioned, the application doesn't even become available until later in september.

So besides the bursary section on Mugsi (where I assume I can apply for a bunch of bursaries once they become available) ... where else can I look and apply?

I'm pretty sure you can only apply to the McMaster Bursary in MUGSI. All other bursaries would be external. McMaster takes all the sponsor money and puts them together before handing it out to students. So there is only 1 McMaster bursary.

I mean, 1 type of bursary. You can only apply for 1 bursary through MUGSI.

Have you experienced otherwise? Personally, I only saw 1 application in first year and second year.
