Bursaries, again
Sorry the thread I wanted to comment on has been closed :|
So I read that bursary applications come out around September or something. But how does 'application' work? After applying for OSAP it looks like ill be eligible for some University-Wide and Science Bursaries, once its time to apply, will they all appear in my 'Bursaries' section of MUGSI? And then I click 'apply' lol? Just wonder what I'll need prepared for this.
Has anyone received more than one bursary before? Are they easy/likely to get?
Thanks!

Once they open up, it'll appear in the Bursary Application Form area in MUGSI's My Financial Aid section. If you applied for OSAP, then all you gotta do is click Apply. I believe they have a question or two so they can see if you are entitled to any specific bursaries.

You don't get your bursary until around February (if i remember correctly), at which point it is deposited into your student account. If it's more than what you owe to the school, they mail you a cheque in the following few weeks.

amyshi, Melanieee all say thanks to ali11 for this post.

Bursaries is greatly depended on your parent's income. And additional money if your parents are unemployed and it does not depend on your marks.

I received 2 of them in my second year, they weren't for huge sums of money but they were enough that it helped me out a bit. They are pretty easy to get since it's based on financial need and if you have osap then they assume you are in need of finances.

Also, if you don't owe the university money then they mail you a cheque.
