Buying Textbooks from Amazon (shipping)
Has anyone had experience buying textbooks from Amazon.com and Amazon.ca?

How is the shipping time? I got a quote of 21 - 27 days but that seems...ridiculous to say the least.

As well, are the fees what they state on the info page (3.99 on Amazon.com and 2.99 on Amazon.ca for regular speed) or has anyone had experience with surprise fees?

You get free shipping for orders $25+ on Amazon.ca (only if you buy from Amazon though, not other sellers - and not on all textbooks, it will say if it's eligible or not). It usually takes around 2-7 business days (in my experience it's only taken 2-3 days). Don't order from Amazon.com since you'll have to pay international shipping fees.

Hound UPS when you get the tracking code... seems like they don't like to leave notification slips at your door and just send it back to Amazon. Now I have to re-order everything :(

I didn't use Amazon, but i used eBay and bought some of my textbooks overseas. It took about 6 days with UPS.... so i'm assuming less if it's in the states with Amazon? :S

I bought a book off Amazon about a week ago and I just got it today. So the delivery was about a week, which is pretty decent. And there weren't any surprise fees for me. All I paid for was the book and shipping

Check amazon.co.uk
My immunology textbook was about $50 cheaper than buying it from Titles or Amazon.com/ca
Shipping was great as well. They said it would take 5-8 business days but it only took 3.

Nope no duties. I don't exactly remember how much shipping was other than the fact it was more expensive than getting it from Canada or the US. However, even with the extra shipping fee I save $40-50

amazon.ca

I read through the policies for shipping for the sellers that I wanted the books from on amazon.com and apparently they don't ship to Canada (at least I THINK I read that right), which is why I ended up looking for my textbooks on amazon.ca
