It's not a good idea to just blindly buy your books online. Sometimes it can be more expensive (either just a little bit, or significantly more). You should also take into account S&H costs. Comparison shopping is a good idea, though.

Personally, I have never found a book for cheaper online. I haven't looked up every single one of my books, but the ones I have checked have all been more expensive.

Use this site: http://www.booksprice.com/

It checks all online textbook sellers for cheapest price.

Just be sure to filter by shipping to Canada (default is USA) when you get the results. And use ISBN from titles to make the search (some ISBN # from titles wont work if they are sold in bundle packages, then you will have to google the author + title to find ISBN #).

Also, remember that shipping might take a couple weeks, so it would have been wiser to do this a few weeks ago, or you can always use this next semester.

Good Luck!

lululand, sinthusized all say thanks to ikantsepll for this post.

For me, I can almost always find my books cheaper online. I usually wait until school starts, check prices at Titles and then comparison shop. Almost 100% of my English books are available from Chapters for significantly cheaper and you get free shipping for orders over 39.00.

This year I've saved over 300.00 by shopping around to different resources for books I already know I need.

Resources like craigslist, facebook, kijiji and MI marketplace are also excellent resources for student-to-student resale which is always cheaper than the listed price at titles.

If you find a book that's cheaper online, then go for it! I'd personally only use amazon.ca though because items usually ship from Canada and the shipping prices are explicitly stated. If you buy an item from the amazon.ca depot, you get free shipping if the item is over 40$ and they usually ship really fast! I've had items arrive the day after I ordered them.

If you buy from the states, shipping prices can get pretty ridiculous and there could be extra surprise charges because the item has to cross the border.

I personally just ordered the anatomy book off of amazon.ca because it was about 15$ cheaper than at Titles.

Well shipping from USA isn't that bad. I ordered from Biblio.com because it was cheapest there (saved $70 than titles) and shipping was only $4 on the $58 textbook (new) and arrived in a week. But always opt for more popular websites (that accept PayPal), even if it means an extra $5 or so.

Ya, this year I already have save over $100 buying 2 books on eBay. I've yet to see a book over the cost of my books but see the same cost as Titles often.
Just make sure the version # is correct as well as the ISBN #
